hahahaha I shall slowly post about each day, long and wordy post ahead xD
Day One:
met fellow Nehru people: shixin Jerome
Bella songning lihui yifan junjie siqi alfino xixi junbo eemin Ian xunkai :D
took the bus from school then ferry to pulau ubin. hahaha a bit quiet cos we all didn’t know each other that well yet.
then met NICHOLAS! hahaha our is instructor, super funny lame and cute lah, all his ah seng stories and jokes xD
haha then had some sorta icebreakers. oh nooooooo I’m alr starting to forget the details, thank God I’ve the obs journal!
haha and we had trust fall! a bit scary to fall backwards and simply trust Nehru but seriously, it was a super huge first step towards our bonding! :D oh and there were gross white caterpillars all over the grass, GROSS

had belaying training. hahaha IS THAT YOU? YES IT’S ME IT’S ME! xD haha actually I really think I’m the worst belayer ever, shixin was like, “yuxian, my life is in your hands okay” after she saw me like messing around blur-ly with the harness xD
then learnt to cook dinner with solid fuel an mess tins. ok I didn’t really cook, more like lihui and shixin did, haha my cooking’ll prob be the cause of food poisoning the entire Nehru xD
pitched tents for the first time in my life. quite fun leh, but not as fun sleeping in it on the rocky ground xD but seriously better than I expected, I thought it’ll be all stuffy and hot but it’s okay leh, just a bit of sand inside xD shared tents with yifan eemin and xixi. xD
Day Two:
super lots of bugs on the outside of our tent then had to brush them off. unpitched in total darkness loh, had to use flashlights xD
had height elements! omg omg omg I’m super high now that I rmb! shixin and I paired up and was the first pair to go for it! and we got to the top! omg super shiok, I can’t even begin to describe the feeling I got when I touched the top log. it’s unbelievably thrilling and scary, had to get up from the sitting position and stand on the diagonal log. was like closing my eyes and kept muttering and thinking to myself while trying to stand up, “trust Nehru, trust my belayers, trust God” while everyone were screaming encouragements below then shixin tripped twice but in the end she made it too! both of us were totally screaming when we touched the top loh! omg shixin, we totally did itttttt! :D
had kayaking to camp 2. hahaha poor Jerome, it took me ages to figure out how to steer in the correct direction then we kept going towards the shore xD hahaha then even after I somehow got the hang of it, i kept forgetting which side to steer xD
had to practice capsizing and it was superrrr horrible and tiring. haha Jerome and I spent like almost one hour trying to get back onto the kayak with the help of weiren and in the end he got out of his own kayak to help us and when we finally got into our own kayak, he took ages to get back into his own hahaha and I was laughing like mad at something he did which I forgot about :O
anw I lost an obs bottle during the capsizing thanks to Jerome, who took out his before capsizing and didn’t remind me, totally thanks so much huh. hahaha but in the end we managed to get back all the missing bottles lah.
got to camp 2 , pitched and cooked and ate and rinsed. Nehru wasn’t on time, so somehow got reprimanded and a bit sad. :/ hmm then chose the sea expedition ICs and all were scouts, super cool! Jerome huakai yaoqing teckchye haha.
pitched tents in darkness and wet grass(with ant nest nearby), a bit weird but alr used to it haha :)
Day Three:
SEA EXPEDITION!
swept with Jerome(IC position as sweeper, supposedly most slack, but unfortunately turned out to to be the hiongest position) and alfino&shixin :)
HAHA alfino and his apples and many complaints! xD he complained even more than me lah, amazingly xD
had to keep steering till my arms were about to break off. we couldn’t even see claire&huakai(navigator IC) in front, then when we did see them, they kept changing course and we totally couldn’t figure out whether to go left or right, so basically I had to keep steering towards some random direction I didn’t even know hahaha
currents were super strong, cos of the monsoon season, then we had to sweep a lot of people who were off-course. once again, steered till I could scream and throw down the paddle xD
threw up a few times while raft-tubing(? forgot the term for the kayak line) then my side of kayaks were all staring at me when the instructors told me to eat oranges to help. ORANGES DO NOT HELP AT ALL. I threw up the oranges the second round. haha but it was okay after we separated from the line of kayaks again and there were people asking me if I was okay and stuff :) thanks Nehru :)
finally reached the lunch place, and kept shivering and almost froze with the strong winds blowing. haha then seeked shelter behind the guys’ backs, thank God for tall guys and huge backs xD
haha I must really try to build up resistance to the cold and wind now xD
reached camp 3, pitched tents and unacked and cooked. actually it’s exactly as the seniors told us lah, no toilets, nothing, just patch of rocky ground, overlooking the sea somemore. haha but it didn’t seem to be very bad leh, probably cos of Nehru, and I think everyone felt the same way about the camp and their watch too :)
stargazed, and saw the orion belt! the first time ever, super pretty :)
last night alr, then we were all like quite sad… but was alr wiped out from the land exp then just slept…
Day Five:
haha when we woke up, everyone were rolling down alr haha cos we pitched on a slope. super funny. then while we were unpitching, there was this stick insect on eemin’s leg! damn gross, and it really did look like a stick, I thought it was really just a stick loh. haha siqi got rid of the insect in the end xD
anw we packed up, had breakfast and everything. then had to wash the tents and stock-take.
haha we koped most of the stuff we were missing, but still had to pay for a missing compass. xD only about 60cents eah so it was alright. hahaha cleaning and washing was real fun, especially drying all the taupes and tents! jumped around and shook the sheets like mad people xD
haha then went to complete our tree and wrapped up :) haha don’t know why i started crying only at like the reflections of the second person, think it was Jerome. haha then think almost all the girls started to cry too. seriously damn sad at that time… yeah, quite sad to split watch :(
then before we went for lunch, we bought obs teeeeeee! :D seriously regret not buying two tees, feel like crying now again haha.
yup then it was debrief and time to
leave. the debriefing poem was seriously meaningful, made me feel like crying all over again.
“the bags may be heavy, but they’ll never crush our spirits” :) :) :)
hahahaha then we zi-highed and played our own invented version of “tall Jerome, short junbo”! superrr funny, especially when Jerome kept losing and did the dodo dance damn funnily xD
then they made us split thought we wanted to stay together, were forced to take different ferries and buses back to SG :(
haha but most of us met up in canteen afterwards and went JP to crap and had watch snacktime/dinner till 6plus :)
really miss obs now argh can we please go another obs course again?! haha or have a reunion dinner sometime soon :D
hahaha can’t wait for the chalet in June, have to keep in touch okay :)
though our daily goodnight and good morning smses’ll stop someday, but our Nehru spirit’ll always be there :)
seriously, hard circumstances bring people together, and sometimes five days of the situation create bonds that’re worth five years. :)
grrr really hope this will be over soon, it’s nothing if i tell myself so.
